Each of us as followers of Christ, have been commissioned by Him to spend our lives going and sharing the Gospel. Some of us preach, some of us pray, some of us go to other lands, others of us serve in the nursery, adult, youth, or children’s ministry; but each of us are seeking to be a part of bringing others to Christ.

Hear Christ’s Message

The seven most important letters in the Bible are usually overlooked, the seven authored by Jesus personally, and sent to us individually. For many reasons, those seven letters, comprising chapters 2 & 3 of Revelation, are the most important in the Bible.

The seven most important letters in the Bible are usually overlooked—the seven authored by Jesus personally, and sent to us individually. For many reasons, those seven letters, comprising chapters 2 and 3 of Revelation, are probably the most important part of the Bible for you and me. For in them, and in chapters like the following, Jesus has written the secrets of: how we can live forever; how we can have a joy-filled life; and how we can experience real love.

Live forever “And this is eternal life, that they may know You, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom You have sent.” -John 17:3

Joy-filled life “Therefore My Father loves Me, because I lay down My life that I may take it again.” -John 10:17

Never fear the future. “A little while longer and the world will see Me no more, but you will see Me. Because I live, you will live also.” -John 14:19

Experience real love And now abide faith, hope, love, these three; but the greatest of these is love.” -1 Corinthians 13:13

The last message Jesus has for us today is His wonderful plan. He has spelled out what He wants us to be like. He has detailed how He by His grace will enable us to live! Jesus is here. CHRIST SEEKING OUT HIS CHURCH: Our Lord Jesus Christ came to give so much. Have you received what Jesus came to give ?

The Victory of Jesus

In Christ we see the fullness of the Godhead Bodily. Jesus is victorious in everything, but there’s one victory that is above all others, it’s His victory at the cross, over sin, over death, over hell and over the Evil One.

In Christ we see the fullness of the Godhead Bodily. Jesus is victorious in everything, but there’s one victory that is above all others, it’s His victory at the cross, over sin, over death, over hell and over the Evil One.

“And I fell at his feet to worship him. But he said to me, “See that you do not do that! I am your fellow servant, and of your brethren who have the testimony of Jesus. Worship God! For the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy.” -Revelation 19:10

The Victory of Jesus is based on God’s Faithfulness. Jesus won every time and as the writer of Hebrews says

“Inasmuch then as the children have partaken of flesh and blood, He Himself likewise shared in the same, that through death He might destroy him who had the power of death, that is, the devil, and release those who through fear of death were all their lifetime subject to bondage.” -Hebrews 2:14

In Revelation 12 we learn about the four powerful weapons used by the Tribulation saints. Do you know them ?

1.   The Word: Ephesians 6:12, Hebrews 4:12

2.   The Name: Philippians 2:9

3.   The Blood: Revelation 12:11

4.   The Cross: Hebrews 2:14

The Return of Jesus

Look at the world around us, at the decline and fall of the American culture, the decline and demise of the American family, and the disintegration of the political system around the world, and we see the chaos… its all a reminder that Jesus is coming!

Look at the world around us, at the decline and fall of the American culture, the decline and demise of the American family, and the disintegration of the political system around the world, and we see the chaos… its all a reminder that Jesus is coming!

Now I saw heaven opened, and behold, a white horse. And He who sat on him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness He judges and makes war. His eyes were like a flame of fire, and on His head were many crowns. He had a name written that no one knew except Himself. He was clothed with a robe dipped in blood, and His name is called The Word of God.” -Revelation 19:11-13

What can we bring to Him? What gift is worthy of giving to your Beloved? How can you express your love to the One who loved you so much that He gave His very life for us? Jesus already told us of some elements of daily life that He will reward us for. Are you practicing them at every opportunity? Jesus loves to see Himself in us. How? Here is a start.

1.   A Christlike loving of the unlovely. Luke 6:35

2.   A Christlike serving of the unfortunate. ’Luke 14:13-14  Matthew 25:40

3.  A Christlike focus on the Word. 2 John 5-8

4.   A Christlike devotion to God’s will. Colossians 3:23-24

5.   A Christlike endurance of trials. 1 Peter 1:7

I hope theses six challenges are building blocks in your spiritual lives.

The Touch of Jesus

Have you ever wondered if your prayers make it through to God? God tells us that He hears every prayer of everyone at all times.

Have you ever wondered if your prayers make it through to God? God tells us that He hears every prayer of everyone at all times.

“Blessed is he who reads and those who hear the words of this prophecy, and keep those things which are written in it; for the time is near.” -Revelation 1:3

CONSIDER our sense of touch. Although scientists can’t agree on how touch works in humans, the scientists can measure it!  For instance one tap of your fingernail can discern between paper, fabric, wood, plastic or steel.  Your finger can detect lines etched 1/2500th of an inch deep.  You can feel even the slightest breeze that’s one 1000th of an ounce at the tip of a ½” hair. But those pale when we see God’s power to sense and feel our touch!

Have you ever pondered the wonderful joy of being touched by Jesus? He reached out and touched, the sinners and the sick, the demonized and defiled. He touched young and old, men and women, living and dead, the hopeless and helpless. And all were changed marvelously!

What can you take away from all of this? you can reach out by faith, and acknowledge that God senses every fiber of your life.  He can feel your needs. By faith you can touch God. Ask for his touch. Only Jesus Christ can meet your need; you must go to Him. Confess his work in you!

The Voice of Jesus

Are you listening to the voice of the Lord? He speaks to those who have an ear to hear, if you haven’t been hearing the voice of the Lord from His book, you need to examine whether or not you have a spiritual ear to hear.

Are you listening to the voice of the Lord? He speaks to those who have an ear to hear, if you haven’t been hearing the voice of the Lord from His book, you need to examine whether or not you have a spiritual ear to hear. Have you heard the voice of Jesus? He is speaking today. His voice is mighty and very powerful.

“…And His voice was as the sound of many waters.”  -Revelation 1:15b

“The voice of the Lord is over the waters; The God of glory thunders; The Lord is over many waters. The voice of the Lord is powerful; The voice of the Lord is full of majesty.” -Psalm 29:3-4

John was using the metaphor of a thunderous waterfall. Last spring I stood at the crest of the mighty Niagara Falls. The avalanche of rushing water vibrated the ground as it thundered downward and burst upward in mist. Since most of us don’t live by a mighty waterfall the Scriptures use another metaphor for the voice of the Lord in Psalm 29. He compares His voice to the deep rumble and loud roar of thunder.

The voice of Jesus calls for our SALVATION.

“And the Spirit and the bride say, “Come!” And let him who hears say, “Come!” And let him who thirsts come. Whoever desires, let him take the water of life freely.” -Revelation 22:17

The Eyes of Jesus

Is there anything in your life that you wouldn’t want exposed? would there be anything you’d be ashamed of? open before the eyes of God, He sees it all anyway. Sometimes we’re more embarrassed of our friends seeing things, than we are of God seeing things.

Is there anything in your life that you wouldn’t want exposed? Would there be anything you’d be ashamed of? Our lives are open before the eyes of God, He sees it all anyway. Sometimes we’re more embarrassed of our friends seeing things, than we are of God seeing things. We need to look up in our sin and see those sad eyes of Jesus. He always sees us. He offers a way out, He offers a way through, He offers us victory. Let’s take His victory today!

“His head and hair were white like wool, as white as snow, and His eyes like a flame of fire.” -Revelation 1:14

The eyes of Jesus are INSPECTING and REFINING OUR LIVES. Those eyes of fire discover, and with consuming light reveal secrets.

1.   When troubled look up for His EYES OF COMPASSION: Hagar and His compassionate eyes when we are troubled. -Genesis 16:1-13

2.   When tempted look up for His EYES OF CONSECRATION: Joseph and His purifying eyes when we are tempted. -Genesis 39:1-9

3.   When lonely or afraid look up for His eyes of confidence: David and the ever present eyes when we feel alone & afraid. -Psalm 139

4.   When sinking look up for His eyes of comfort: Disciples and the rescuing eyes when we are sinking. -Matthew 14

5.   When sinning look up and see His eyes of chastening: Peter and the sad eyes when we go in our own strength. -Luke 22:54-62

Ten Secrets of Unfading Beauty

People set standards for measuring beauty… when they tell you what your clothes are supposed to look like, and when they tell you what your makeup is supposed to look like, and whether it’s the time of the year for this and that, but have we ever thought about what God’s standard for measuring beauty is?

People set standards for measuring beauty… when they tell you what your clothes are supposed to look like, and when they tell you what your makeup is supposed to look like, and whether it’s the time of the year for this and that, but have we ever thought about what God’s standard for measuring beauty is?

“Charm is deceitful and beauty is passing, but a woman who fears the Lord, she shall be praised.” -Proverbs 31;30

“Do not let your adornment be merely outward—arranging the hair, wearing gold, or putting on fine appare—ratherlet it be the hidden person of the heart, with the incorruptible beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is very precious in the sight of God.” -1 Peter 3:3–4

Who is presented as the most honored woman in the Bible? Mary. Mary was great because she listened to God, she humbled herself before God, she said yes to God’s grace, she surrendered to God’s will, she experienced God, she served God joyfully, she immersed herself in the Scriptures, and she never stopped growing spiritually. In God’s eyes, Mary was a beautiful woman. God defines beauty as inward, not outward.

Mary was beautiful because: She had learned to avoid being loud and assertive in her communication: -Proverbs 9:13; 7:11, she had learned to avoid being immodest and alluring in her dress; -Proverbs 7:10, and she had learned to avoid being a fighter, quarreling to get her way: -Proverbs 20:3. If these symptoms are present, the prognosis for the future is bleak. One gifted expositor in writing about this said, “We may say with a surgeon’s frankness, her home will be like Scarlett’s—troubled, torn down, and literally Gone with the Wind.”

Trusting God Through Tough Times

Do you trust God enough that you can talk about him, no matter where you are in life? no matter how pained, stressed, depressed, physically limited, financially strapped, no matter how spiritually oppressed, do you trust God enough to speak for Him wherever you are? anytime, anywhere, you speak about Him if you trust Him.

Do you trust God enough that you can talk about Him, no matter where you are in life? No matter how pained, stressed, depressed, physically limited, or financially strapped. No matter how spiritually oppressed. Do you trust God enough to speak for Him wherever you are? Anytime, anywhere, you speak about Him if you trust Him.

“In You, O Lord, I put my trust; Let me never be ashamed; Deliver me in Your righteousness. Bow down Your ear to me, deliver me speedily; Be my rock of refuge, a fortress of defense to save me. For You are my rock and my fortress; Therefore, for Your name’s sake, lead me and guide me. Pull me out of the net which they have secretly laid for me, for You are my strength.” -Psalm 31:1-4

One lesson we all should learn is that life must be lived on purpose for God. Coasting, going along with the flow and living carelessly: always leads to a wasted life. God has placed each of us on earth, in a specific time, for a specific purpose. When we live accordingly, we have a life lived deliberately for God.

God then measures whether we accomplished what He desired in that time period. Each time you’re in God’s Word, stop when you find a truth about the Lord; pause and by faith, repeat the truth back to Him, For example:

  • God, You are a Rock—then be my Rock.
  • God, You are Strength—then be my Strength.
  • God, You are a Refuge—then be my Refuge.
  • God, You are a Fortress of Defense—then be my Fortress of Defense.

Forming such a habit is how we can derive the greatest comfort and strength from God’s Word as we learn to apply what He is to our lives! In light of God’s exceeding great goodness, have you said in your heart and at the center of your will—“Lord, You are first”? If you’ve been coasting spiritually by feeding your soul on yesterday’s blessings, last week’s devotions, and last month’s ministry, I exhort you to choose a new focus for your spiritual life: Live deliberately for God—no coasting allowed!
